Biography
Teri LaFleur Soprano
Soprano Teri LaFleur has the unique distinction of excelling in the many worlds of Opera, Theatre and Music Education. Teri has performed as a soloist in numerous venues within the Pioneer Valley and throughout the region and is no stranger to the stage having appeared in many principle roles in both musical theatre and in several plays. Teri most recently performed the role of Margaret Johnson in Wilbraham United Players production of The Light in the Piazza (May 2014) for which she won ‘Best Actress in a Musical’ at the 2014 Mass Critics Circle awards and her favorite roles include but are not limited to Abigail Adams in 1776 The Musical (Wilbraham United Players) for which she received a nomination for 'Best Featured Actress' by the Mass Critics Circle, Sylvia in Sylvia (Panache Productions), Miss Mona in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Cousin Hebe in H.M.S. Pinafore, Joanne in Godspell, and Elizabeth in The Birth. In addition Teri has recently joined forces with Mezzo-Soprano Lisa Woods to form the duo ‘Bella Voce’ whose repertoire encompasses many styles ranging from Opera to Broadway to the American Songbook and more! Teri is also a voice instructor at Springfield College and maintains a very active private studio as well. Teri is a frequent soloist at Trinity United Methodist Church,is a regular guest performer for the Springfield Massachusetts Chapter of the Tuesday Morning Music Club and is the Chairperson for the TMMC’s Junior Extension Division.
Lisa Woods Mezzo-Soprano
Mezzo-soprano Lisa Woods has fashioned a highly significant career in the Pioneer Valley and beyond as a soloist in opera, oratorio and recital, with hundreds of performances to her credit having appeared with, among others, Berkshire Opera Festival, Greater Worcester Opera, Panopera, Commonwealth Opera, Longwood Opera, Valley Light Opera and the Wilbraham United Players. Roles performed include Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Prince Orlovsky (Die Fledermaus), Signora Naccarelli (The Light in the Piazza), the Third Lady (The Magic Flute), Marcellina (The Marriage of Figaro), Giovanna (Rigoletto), Katisha (The Mikado), Iolanthe (Iolanthe) and Dame Hannah (Ruddigore). Also among her credits Lisa created the role of Elizabeth Dumont in the world premiere of Sojourner Truth, a new folk opera written by Paula Kimper, has been a featured soloist with the Berkshire Concert Choir, Berkshire Lyric Theater, the Friends of Music of Guilford and the American Guild of Organists. Lisa is an alto section leader for the Edwards Church choir and is a regular guest performer for the Springfield Massachusetts Chapter of the Tuesday Morning Music Club, serves as an advisor for the TMMC’s Junior Extension Division and is the Assistant Treasurer for the TMMC.
